RVA Fashion Week

Treat the world like it’s your runway. I recently attended RVA Fashion Week in Richmond, Virginia and was so impressed with this season’s collections, which included bold statements, sheer fabrics, and sustainable designs.

The event also raised money for the American Cancer Society in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, which aligns perfectly with my role as a Cancer Rehabilitation doctor.

Featured designers included: Esther Lofley, K McGough, Paige The Artist x BLUECATHOUSE, Sister Boutique, Museum Rejects, and Keziah Amaree. 

Proving less is more, this year’s designers went above and beyond with haute couture that showcased luxury through simplicity.

K. McGough's line was inspired by her first winter coat in America, with the colors red and black representing the theme of warmth and fire throughout her pieces.

From monochrome to minimalism, each piece had its own unique details, which left the audience mesmerized.

My favorite styles were from Esther Lofley, who used repurposed gowns to create an elevated and up-cycled line of apparel.

It is not often you see two fashion designers collaborate on a collection but Paige The Artist and BLUECATHOUSE did an incredible job bringing their ideas together in a fun and vibrant way.

There was so much talent, I cannot wait to see what the Spring Show brings!
