What's your passion?

Still reformatting the blog. It takes a lot of patience but it's fun to personalize. Some of my inspiration comes from these three sites:
http://www.carrieloves.com/
http://xomisse.com/
http://alittlebitoflacquer.blogspot.com/
They have fantastic tutorials and organization tips if you're thinking of starting your own blog.
One thing I have discovered during residency is that if you really want to get the most out of your life, you have to find what you're passionate about. Being in the medical field does not mean science takes precedence over art. It means you have to be able to think outside the box: to think creatively in order to think critically and apply yourself. And that means combining the arts and sciences.

For me, these disciplines come together in photography. It is a platform that crosses societal, cultural, and language barriers. I love capturing moments, memories, and emotions that you can live through over and over again. Sometimes I use my iPhone, sometimes my Sony Alpha 55. Whether it's for social media contests, a scrapbook, or just because, I know that I'm doing something I love and it makes me happy. Now I get to share my passion with you. What makes you happy? What's your passion?
Stay tuned for more snapshots.
Sometimes it's not the moments that make you feel big, but rather the ones that make you feel small, which matter the most |
Here goes nothing

So, I decided to start a blog. That is, I decided to start a blog to write about work, life, and everything in between. I miss writing, especially creative writing, and thought this would be a great outlet. I hope you enjoy reading it, whether to learn new recipes, discover fun style tips, or get inspired to write your own blog.
A little about me: My name is Alyssa. I am a Starbucks addict. For real. I even sang about Starbucks when I competed for a Miss America state pageant, complete with bedazzled Starbucks cup.
This blog took so long to set up! I feel like I am now fluent in CSS...or at least beginner level. Alright, introduction is over. Enough about me, let's get to the good stuff.
xx Alyssa
